Gibraltar Monkey Videos
The Gibraltar Monkeys or "Barbary Macaques" are considered by many
to be the top tourist attraction in Gibraltar. The most popular
troop is that of Queen's Gate at The Apes' Den. People can get
especially close to the monkeys. They will often approach and
sometimes even climb onto people as they are used to human
interaction. |

Originally native to Northern Morocco and Algeria, these tailless,
sociable monkeys are the only macaques found in Africa and they
have the northernmost range of any monkey species on the African
continent. Today, with over 7 million tourists visiting The Rock
of Gibraltar each year, the Barbary macaques are the peninsula’s
most famous residents.
